First of the Saxon Miniatures models

This is one of the metal Viking warlords from Saxon Miniatures.  I really like these miniatures and have a couple of batches of them, both of the Viking and Saxon variety.
This is a fun pose from the front.  I tried a little bit of freehand on the shield.
I have a couple more of this figure and will end up converting them.

  1. Great stuff! I really like "Saxon Miniatures" too. Nice work on the freehand.

    1. I really like them. There are few little things that could be better, like the hands. A couple of the heads are really large, but overall I really like the models.

  3. How do they compare to Gripping Beast? The models on the Saxon Miniatures website look better to my mind

    1. They compare quite well. A few of them, the heads are a little large. The heads on the Arthurian samples he sent to me are larger than the Viking and Saxon lines. Part of why I think they are better than the GB metal vikings is that they are just a fresher and more dynamic sculpt.
